National Workshop - 20 Years Reforms in the Security Sector in Albania : 15-16 Mars 2012 


Reform of the security sector in Albania has been an important feature of the democratic transformation in Albania. These reforms finally led to Albania’s membership in NATO. Major progress has taken place in terms of the rule of law and respect for human rights. The NATIONAL WORKSHOP: “Twenty Years of Security Sector Reform in Albania: Status and Challenges in the Democratic Governance of the Security Sector, and the Way Ahead ” would take place in Tirana on March 15-16. The workshop aims to discuss the current status in Albania’s reform process and the way ahead. The main objective is to help identify what a new generation of legal and political reforms should include and how to implement such reforms. For more information CLICK HERE.

Call for Applications: World of Think Tanks, - Open Lectures - Second Edition

After a positive experience during 2011, Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) with the support of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and OSI Think Tank Fund will organize the second edition of the open lectures "The World of Think Tanks". These  lectures would be focused on important fields such as good governance, European integration, cooperation with the media, lobing and advocating etc. Particular attention would be paid to practical aspects of the work in think tans such as - organization and management, relations with the groups of interest, institutions and key actors, as well as preparation, implementation, monitoring and assessment of different programs and projects. The program is opened to students from private and state universities, who have accomplished or are currently studing their Masters in social and human sciences.
