IDM and CoPlan through this round table, brought into the focus the debate concerning the role of "Qarks" and its importance in the economic and social development in the regional level, concentrating in the perspectives for european integration and the neccessessity for a efficient policy in the local and regional governance.

Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) organized on December 16th in Hotel Tirana International, the presentation of the "Annual Report on Monitoring the Activity of Parliamentary Commission of Legal Issues, Public Administration and Human Rights.

  International Workshop - 23-28 October 2011 - Prague

In the frame of the joint project “Western Balkan Rural Extension Network through Curriculum Reform” a TEMPUS project implemented by a consortium of Western Balkan stakeholders from Academia and the third sector, of which IDM is part of , it was organized in Prague on the 23-28 October 2011 the WBREN WORKSHOP.

The project as such aims to develop and improve the competencies of formal and non-formal education professionals, who will create and deliver formal and non-formal, modular based trainings to stakeholders in agriculture and rural development.

In the frame of the joint CBC project, “Cross-border Civil Society Forum” implemented jointly by IDM and MCIC and funded by the IPA cross border cooperation programme between the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania, IDM organized in Elbasan and Dibra region,  respectively on the on the 7^th and 31^st October 2011 the second round of tables “Initiative for Cross-border Networks and Partnerships”.

IDM within the project "Support for agri-business development, networking for economic growth and strengthening of capacities for rural development" supported by the Soros Foundation has prepared an information brochure on the farmers' support schemes in the region of Korca, Shkodra and Elbasan.

National Conference - July 12, 2011 - Hotel Tirana International 

Institute for Democracy and Mediation, on 12 July 2011, organized a National Conference on “Results Based Management-A Manual for Local Governance in Albania”. The event was held at the premises of the Tirana International Hotel.

Institute for Democracy and Mediation, with the support of the Balkan Trust for Democracy and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung organized the Regional Seminar "Results Based Management: For an effective good governance." This activity is part of a larger project which aims to encourage the introduction of a real perception of performance management in municipalities.

Round Table
27 October 2010 - Tirane

Institute for Democracy and Mediation in cooperation with Gender Alliance for evelopment Centre and with the support of World Bank organizes in Tirana, on 27th ctober 2010, the Round Table “Empowering Albanian Rural Woman: Economic and ocial Perspectives”. In the frame of this activity, IDM with GADC have completed a policy brief, which sums up the nowadays socio-economic situation of woman in lbanian rural areas as well as concrete recommendations that would improve her situation.

Round Table, Tirana 29th June 2010

The Department of Local Governance and Integrated Development of IDM, organized in Tirana, on the 29th June 2010 the Round Table “Rural Development as a Cross-Sectoral Approach and Implications for Albania”. The event was made possible through the financial support of Think Tank Fund, Program of Open Society Foundations Network (Budapest, Hungary).
The purpose of this round table was to bring awareness at the institutional level on the importance of a multi-dimensional and cross-sectoral approach towards rural development and the work in network.
